Desc: A Minor Genocide: Directed by Natalia Koryncka-Gruz. WAR NEVER DIES -"The tragic story of my family left an imprint on my childhood. As a child my mother had to witness the death of her parents and the crumbling of her world; the beginning of her life was an apocalypse. Visions of raging fires, killings, abandonment, the struggle of small children, all of them became part of my life and were akin to detailed pages of a family album that you watch with held breath." The heroines of this film are three women: mother, daughter and granddaughter, and the war trauma that passes on from one generation to the next. For the mother the war was something she came to know personally, for the daughter a painful family recollection, for the granddaughter it was history, which she did not want to allow into her life. The realization that war never truly ceases and that the trauma passes on from one generation to the next is shown in the narration of the heroines and is exemplified in the recalled images of child war oppression.
